    Lombard Odier Investment Managers bolsters sustainability expertise with senior hire

    Il Dr. Bernasconi avrà sede a New York e il suo ingresso rafforza le competenze del Gruppo in materia di sostenibilità 

    Lombard Odier Investment Managers (“LOIM”) annuncia oggi la nomina del Dr. Lorenzo Bernasconi come Head of Climate and Environmental Solutions. Questo nuovo ruolo è espressione dell’impegno costante del Gruppo verso l’integrazione tra competenze in materia di sostenibilità e l’approccio olistico, implementato per raggiungere gli obiettivi di transizione climatica nell’intera offerta di investimenti, compresi i mercati privati.

    Con sede a New York, Lorenzo farà ricorso alla sua profonda conoscenza e esperienza nel settore per sviluppare ulteriormente la gamma di prodotti e soluzioni di LOIM in materia di clima e soluzioni basate sul rispetto della natura. Il nuovo ruolo è partito dal 1° ottobre.

    Lorenzo porta in Lombard Odier la sua esperienza ultra ventennale nel settore degli investimenti e dei servizi professionali, unita a una profonda conoscenza della finanza climatica maturata attraverso gli incarichi lavorativi ricoperti, anche in ambito accademico. Dopo aver lavorato presso UBS a Londra e Boston Consulting Group a New York e Parigi, è stato recentemente Managing Director of Innovative Finance di The Rockefeller Foundation a New York, occupandosi della gestione del portafoglio “Zero Gap”, mobilitando capitali a supporto degli Obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibile delle Nazioni Unite (SDGs).

    Lorenzo è inoltre Board Chair di Emergent Forest Finance Accelerator, un intermediario no-profit che ultimamente ha contribuito a lanciare la LEAF Coalition, il più grande impegno pubblico-privato a protezione delle foreste tropicali attraverso i mercati volontari del carbonio. Lorenzo è anche Research Fellow allo Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy and Finance della Stanford University.

    Dr. Christopher Kaminker, Group Head of Sustainable Investment Research and Strategy di Lombard Odier, ha dichiarato: “Lorenzo porta in Lombard Odier un mix raro di competenze ed esperienza che ci sarà di grande aiuto sin da subito, mentre continuiamo ad ampliare la nostra offerta di capitale naturale e climatico in tutte le asset class. A livello globale, la propensione degli investitori per le soluzioni naturali legate al clima sta aumentando, già metà dell’economia globale dipende infatti dal capitale naturale. La natura offre oltre un terzo delle riduzioni delle emissioni previste fino al 2030, purché opportunamente utilizzata”.
