Lombard Odier Investment Managers bolsters 1798 Alternatives with appointment of Raj Davé
Lombard Odier Investment Managers (“LOIM”) today announces the appointment of Raj Davé to launch a strategy that targets opportunities across the special situations and event-driven universe.
The announcement marks the continued growth of LOIM’s 1798 Alternatives franchise and follows the recent appointments of Peter Pulkkinen and Rhys Marsh in February to develop sustainable private credit strategies. The team will be launching a CLIC™ Private Credit strategy later this year.
Raj brings over 20 years of experience investing in high yield, distressed and event-driven markets. He joins LOIM from Sandell Asset Management, where he managed an award-winning Credit Opportunities Strategy for seven years. He previously held senior roles at Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, UBS and Credit Suisse.
Raj will leverage his extensive experience to launch a strategy that targets opportunities across the special situations and event-driven universe. The strategy will focus on the flexible allocation of capital throughout the capital structure, seeking to produce positive returns with low correlation to traditional equity and fixed income markets.
Raj is based in New York and reports to Christophe Khaw, CIO of 1798 Alternatives.
Jean-Pascal Porcherot, CEO of 1798 Alternatives and Co-Head of LOIM commented: “We are pleased to welcome Raj, Peter and Rhys to LOIM. Their credibility, track record and strong cultural fit are highly valuable, as we continue to expand our offering of sophisticated, differentiated strategies to deliver strong returns for investors.
“1798 Alternatives is entering an important phase in its history, benefitting from the alignment of our investing model with Lombard Odier's broader focus on sustainability and the net-zero carbon transition. We are excited to seek opportunities that deliver solid performance for clients, while also helping to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable economy.”
1798 Alternatives currently manages $5.5 billion USD in liquid alternatives and hedge funds.
