Lombard Odier Investment Managers boosts Global Equities with four strategic hires

Lombard Odier Investment Managers (“LOIM”) today announces the appointments of four strategic hires: three to the Asian / Emerging Markets (“Asian / EM”) Equities platform and a further hire to the Sustainability Equity franchise.

Henry Zhang, Ashley Chung and Faye Gao joined LOIM in March 2021 to further strengthen the Asian / EM Equities platform, which has grown significantly in recent months to almost USD 2bn AUM with solid performance across its three core strategies (Asia High Conviction, EM High Conviction and China High Conviction). Asian / EM Equities are a key part of investor portfolios and LOIM plans to continue growing its equities capabilities in the region.

Henry Zhang joins LOIM as Portfolio Manager with responsibility for the China High Conviction strategy. He brings extensive experience in managing investment allocations on behalf of institutional clients. Henry most recently served as a portfolio manager at Harvest Global Investments and is based in Hong Kong.

Ashley Chung is based in Singapore and joins LOIM as an analyst and junior PM from Schroders Investment Management, where she was responsible for conducting in-depth thematic analysis for the technology sector on behalf of institutional clients.

Faye Gao brings a deep knowledge of the financials and property sectors from her previous role at Harvest Global Investments and AB Bernstein Research. She is based in Hong Kong.

Ashley and Faye’s sector expertise will provide long-term systematic and fundamental analysis that ensures the Asian / EM Equities team can make forward-looking investment decisions with the highest level of information and conviction.

LOIM has also bolstered its Sustainability Equity franchise with the appointment of Alina Donets in London. Following the successful launches of the Climate Transition and Natural Capital strategies, the team now manages close to USD 2bn AUM.

Alina is Portfolio Manager for the Natural Capital strategy, which is inspired by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and developed in partnership with the Circular Biodiversity Alliance, established under his Sustainable Markets Initiative. Alina previously worked at Allianz Global Investors, where she helped to expand the firm’s sustainability focused product line.

Didier Rabattu holds overall responsibility for LOIM’s Global Equities business.

Didier Rabattu, Global Head of Equities at LOIM, said: “Asian / EM Equities and Sustainable Equity are key areas of focus and I am delighted to welcome Alina, Henry, Ashley and Faye to the team. We have strong investment and research expertise and continue to enjoy solid performance across our strategies. These appointments reinforce LOIM’s commitment to be a leading global equity house and provide investors with differentiated high-conviction strategies that deliver strong returns and help accelerate the transition to a more sustainable economy.”
