Watch this Q&A session to hear highlights from the Global Climate Bond 2022 Impact Report. Michael Urban, Deputy Head of Sustainability Research, speaks with Lisa Wong, Partner at Affirmative Investment Management (AIM), and Sam Harrison, Sustainability Analyst at AIM. They discuss the Global Climate Bond Strategy’s environmental and social impact, and its performance over the past year.

This marks the sixth year of LOIM’s partnership with AIM for the Strategy, which focuses on clean energy, water and emissions reduction.

Helping foster positive change through climate bonds

The speakers explore key themes emerging in the green, social and sustainability bond markets and the effects of increased regulation globally. They also outline some of the positive changes that the Strategy’s investments helped generate.

Global Climate Bond was designed to enable investors to support the transition to a more sustainable economy, while also gaining exposure to a diversified investment grade bond portfolio.

Over the past year, the portfolio backed over 2,700 projects across 165 countries that reinforce the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With the largest share of the holdings in climate-related green bonds, the impact is mainly focused on:

  • Affordable and clean energy
  • Industry, innovation and infrastructure
  • Sustainable cities and communities
  • Climate action

The report includes case studies showing the types of projects the Strategy supports – in areas such as clean water, solar, smart buildings and public transport. It also provides a summary of our engagement with issuers on subjects including their net zero targets and strategies.
