Fixed income investors are currently facing historically low or negative yields, as well as receiving increasingly limited return from lengthening duration.

Solutions: Our fundamental fixed income approach offers a range of systematically-constructed portfolios that focus on issuers with strong fundamental credit quality and attractive valuations, designed to overcome the shortcomings of traditional market-cap weighted debt indices.

At the mandate level, we tailor investment solutions for institutional clients that take into account specific requirements, such as yield enhancement, rating limits or lower turnover for buy and maintain. Bond investors could consider the crossover space in corporate credit (between BBB and BB ratings) in order to improve returns for a moderate increase in risk.

Solutions: Our Asia value bond approach aims to tap into the opportunities of USD-denominated debt issued by Asian borrowers. SolutionsConvertible bonds are well-suited to uncertainty as they give investors the potential to capture equity returns with less volatility, and a capital floor. This asset class enables investors to participate in the upside of share rises but the bond feature protects them from the downside.

For investors seeking to reduce interest rate risk, money market offerings such as the Ultra-Low Duration strategy provide a high level of liquidity and protection, and a risk free yield in volatile market conditions.
